Seraphim Construct is a sought-after planet, due to the element voltite, which is created when lightning from the stormy skies of the planet reacts with certain rocks. The original architects of the Seraphim Protocol, made the ruling AI to oversee the mining operations, but the balance is shifting, as the AI increasingly finds way to make the human inhabitants extract the voltite. There is an external planetary threat in the form of psionic soldiers, part of the Cepheus Collective, from a distant nebula known as Cepheus, a realm of psychic energy and psionic phenomena that imbued its inhabitants with extraordinary abilities. Driven by their fascination with advanced psionics and energy manipulation, the Cepheus Collective seeks to harness the potent energy of voltite to augment their already formidable abilities.
